Vol. 8: Seven-Color Slits
Nissin Japan visited the cosplay amusement spaces "HACOSTADIUM OSAKA", "HACOSTADIUM cosset Osaka Nipponbashi", and "HACOSTADIUM cosset Ikebukuro Main Store"! We conducted a photoshoot using Nissin strobes at Hacostadium, where you can shoot in various situations. In this series, I will introduce the photos we took along with the shooting methods. For our 8th installment, I will introduce photos taken in the Seven-Color Slits at HACOSTADIUM cosset Osaka Nipponbashi.▼ Here are the photos from this shoot! ▼

Models: Kokona, Aine Photography: Ai EharaThe Seven-Color Slits shooting location is a space where slits in seven colors are lined up along the wall.
This time, I tried using accent lighting to make the models look as though they are shining. The mechanism is quite simple. Let's take a look at the shooting method right away.
Shooting MethodFirst, I would like to look at the structure of the Seven-Color Slits.
As you can see, the seven-colored walls are separated by thin partitions. When the model enters the slit, they are surrounded by walls except in front, so the lighting patterns may be limited in this space. It’s a place that makes for a great picture just by using a single main light, but this time I thought about lighting that takes advantage of the small size of the i40.
We used three strobes.
(1) Di700 with Umbrella (translucent), wide panel attached, output 1/8(2) i40 direct, output 1/8, zoom 105mm (2 units)
(1) The main light uses a translucent umbrella applied from the front.

If you look at the full-body shot, you can see clearly how the light hits the wall. It’s an aura-like light that seems perfect for idol-themed photoshoots! By the way, one point of caution...
Depending on where you stand, there's a risk of the i40 accidentally showing up in the frame! (lol) Make sure to adjust the model's position so that the i40 is hidden by their feet!
This shoot took place at the Seven-Color Slits in "HACOSTADIUM cosset Osaka Nipponbashi". You can add various changes to an image by adding just one accent light! If you feel like your photos need a little more impact, adding just one light will change the impression significantly. Please try out various lighting setups using your strobes!☆
