新マシンガンストロボ「MG10」紹介(組み合わせ編)

Introduction to the New Machine Gun Strobe "MG10" (Combination Guide)

In this series introducing the highlights of the highly anticipated new "MG10" product, we were planning to showcase new features available exclusively when paired with the Air10s. However, before we do, we would like to address a concern that many of you seem to have. Namely…
"The MG10 has a large flash head, but can it be used with commercially available accessories?"
To find out, we tested various lighting accessories available at our studio.
Please note that we recommend removing the external zoom head when attaching accessories. Removing it reduces the outer diameter, and because it allows light to spread more evenly, it enables more beautiful lighting.
*When using the unit with the external zoom head removed, the front of the MG10 flash head can become extremely hot during continuous firing, posing a risk of burns; therefore, please do not touch it with bare hands. Additionally, if the accessory has non-heat-resistant parts (such as resin components) in contact with the flash, there is a possibility of deformation, so please exercise caution during use.
First, let’s look at umbrellas. The simple umbrella holder* included with the MG10 features an umbrella attachment hole, allowing you to align and secure it as you wish.
Because you can aim for the umbrella shaft to secure it, more uniform lighting is possible.
*The included simple umbrella holder is intended only for basic use; for long-term, continued use, please purchase a commercially available model.
The RoundFlash series, which Ilko-san also uses in the MG10 introductory video, works perfectly without any issues, as expected.
This type of clip-on bracket for foldable softboxes also works with absolutely no problems.

Compact foldable softboxes (Lastolite products) are also fine.
In short, you can safely assume that almost all accessories compatible with clip-on strobes—including our own previous MG8000 model and the flagship models from other manufacturers—can be used as they are.
Of course, we cannot guarantee compatibility with every product, but unless an accessory is designed with extremely tight tolerances, you should have no issues. Please don't let the size of the head worry you; feel free to combine the MG10 with your favorite lighting accessories and make the most of it in your shoots.
The new "MG10," featuring ultra-high heat resistance, a maximum GN80 output, and a variety of new functions, is available from August 24, 2018, as a limited-edition Air10s set (for Canon, Nikon, and Sony) sold exclusively through our authorized retail partners.
