Nissin Japan Ltd. will release the "Free Tilter FT-03A" on August 31, 2026. This new model features a three-stage telescopic pole that allows for lighting positions even higher than standard light stands, and has shifted from carbon fiber to aluminum construction to minimize the risk of breakage in the event of an accident.

What is the Free Tilter FT-03A?

Easily adjust lighting equipment installed at height using the hand-operated grip.
The pole has been upgraded from a two-stage to a three-stage telescopic design.
Coinciding with this shift, the material has been changed from carbon fiber to aluminum, prioritizing safety in its design.
Weighs approximately 380g with a maximum vertical load of 1.5kg.
A new model for the Free Tilter, which allows you to freely control the direction of your lighting.

Key Features

■ Adjust vertical angles using leverage; also supports horizontal panning

By operating the grip handle, you can adjust the vertical angle of your lighting equipment using leverage. It also allows for free horizontal panning, and by tightening the lock nut, you can securely fix the unit at any desired angle. This is convenient for adjusting lighting equipment installed in high places out of reach.

■ Reach even higher with the 3-stage telescopic pole

The pole features a 3-stage telescopic structure, allowing you to position your strobe higher than with a standard light stand. 49cm when retracted, 123cm at full extension.

■ Material changed from carbon fiber to aluminum to support 3-stage design

For the transition to a 3-stage design, we have changed the material from carbon fiber to aluminum. While carbon fiber carries a risk of snapping and dropping equipment if pushed beyond its limits, aluminum is more ductile under load and will simply bend in the unlikely event of an issue.

■ Lightweight design at approximately 380g

Aluminum is used for the pole, spigot receiver, stays, and grip end, resulting in a weight of approximately 380g. The grip handle is made with EVA material.

■ Maximum vertical load of 1.5kg

The maximum vertical load is 1.5kg. However, this is reduced to 0.9kg when the pole is fully extended.

■ Male spigot mount + 1/4-inch UNC screw

The tip of the pole is a 16mm diameter male spigot. It is equipped with a 1/4-inch UNC screw at the tip, supporting the attachment of various accessories. (*Does not accept 17mm diameter spigots.)
