Features of the "MF18"
■ Equipped with Fine Macro (ultra-fine output mode)
In addition to standard auto, TTL, and manual flash, it is equipped with a "Fine Macro (ultra-fine output) mode" that allows for precise control of ultra-fine output from 1/128 to 1/1024 in 1/6 EV steps. This enables more granular light intensity control.
■ Left/Right Flash Ring Intensity Ratio Control
The flash ring is divided into left and right (A/B) sections. In TTL mode, you can select from 15 flash ratios in 1/2 EV increments; in manual mode, you can adjust the left and right sides independently or shift them simultaneously while maintaining the left-to-right intensity ratio.
■ Flash unit that opens and closes according to lens diameter (Supports filter diameters from 49mm to 77mm)
Features a new "size-adjustable flash ring" mechanism that allows you to enlarge or shrink the size of the flash ring with a single touch.
When the macro lens diameter is large, you can open the flash unit to reduce vignetting.
■ Built-in modeling LED lamps within the flash ring to assist in subject focusing
Equipped with modeling LED lamps inside the flash ring, which are useful for focusing and checking lighting effects in advance. The left and right illumination levels also change according to the intensity ratio of the flash ring.
■ Equipped with a metal Multi Interface Shoe (Sony version only)
The Sony version features a metal Multi Interface Shoe for the mounting foot, providing increased rigidity compared to resin types.
