[MG10/MG8] Regarding the stickiness issue with the grip rubber (Updated August 8, 2024)

We have confirmed an issue where the grip rubber on some circulating units of the MG10 and MG8 flash grips becomes sticky. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to customers using products affected by this issue. As a response to this issue, we will provide a free repair (part replacement). If you own an MG10 or MG8 experiencing this issue, please kindly apply for a free repair via the "Repair Request Form" found on the link in the repair request instructions page within our Support/Repair page.

Issue Description

Stickiness occurs on the rubber attached to the front and back of the grip area.

Affected Products: MG10, MG8

Update Information

August 8, 2024　On August 14, 2024 (Wed) from 13:00-17:00 (reception closes at 16:30), we will be accepting "walk-in repairs (drop-off only)" and performing "free MG10/MG8 grip rubber replacements" at our Koenji headquarters. If you plan to bring your unit in, please let us know your arrival time in advance via our contact form. The replacement takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes. November 15, 2023　・We will provide free grip rubber replacement even for second-hand products. In such cases, please note that "shipping to us must be prepaid by the customer." ・If bringing your unit in person, please let us know your arrival time in advance via our contact form. This is because our staff is limited, and since the replacement takes about 20 to 30 minutes, overlapping appointments may result in long wait times. October 30, 2023　 Normally, we perform a "basic inspection" during repairs. This is an appearance/function inspection performed upon receipt to check for issues other than those reported by the customer. The basic inspection fee is free during the "warranty period" and 3,000 yen "outside the warranty period." When requesting service, you may choose between "free grip rubber replacement only" or "including basic inspection." Please check the appropriate option in the "Fault/Issue Details" section of the repair request form. October 31, 2024　 The "free grip rubber replacement" program has ended.

Status of Current Inventory

All units have been replaced (resolved). As of November 8, 2023, stock at Amazon, Yahoo Shopping, and Yodobashi Camera has been replaced. Replacement of other circulating stock is scheduled to be completed on November 11, 2023.
