"MG80 Pro" Features
■ Equipped with a high-heat-resistant quartz tube – A "machine gun" clip-on flash
Features a high-heat-resistant quartz tube in the flash head. The maximum guide number is 60 (at ISO 100/200mm). This is a tough, clip-on flash resistant to continuous shooting and high-frequency firing, allowing you to focus on your photography without missing a shutter opportunity.
■ Built-in radio-based commander function
The "MG80 Pro" features not only NAS slave functionality but also a built-in NAS commander. By using the "MG80 Pro" as a master, you can wirelessly trigger NAS-compatible flashes. It supports a communication range of approximately 100m, control of up to 8 groups, and an Open Mode*2 that allows communication with NAS flashes without pairing.
■ Charge time of approximately 1.2 seconds using commercially available lithium-ion batteries
Compatible with generic lithium-ion rechargeable batteries (14500 size, 4 pieces). This reduces the charge time at full output to approximately 1.2 seconds*3. AA NiMH rechargeable batteries can also be used in place of lithium-ion batteries. (Batteries and chargers sold separately.)
■ Firmware can be updated by the user
Equipped with a microSD card slot for firmware updates. Users can easily perform firmware updates themselves.
■ Magnetic sliding zoom cover
Uses external auto-zoom. Slide the zoom cover to control the beam angle automatically or manually.
■ Equipped with a modeling light function
An 8W total LED light (fixed intensity) is built into the flash head. It allows for approximately 2 hours*3 of continuous illumination.
*1 NAS (Nissin Air System) is our company's proprietary standard. It is not compatible with other companies' radio-based wireless systems.
*2 Available when both the NAS commander and the flash have the Open Mode feature.
*3 During manual dimming. Approximately 1.5 seconds during TTL dimming. Varies depending on usage environment and the performance/degradation of the batteries used.
