Q. Even when power is set to 1/1 or 1/2 in SD mode, it only fires at 1/4 power. (For Four Thirds)

Compatible models: i40

A. For Four Thirds flashes, the master flash may emit a pre-flash once (total of two flashes, including the main flash) or twice (total of three flashes, including the main flash) during TTL metering.
Since the slave flash cannot detect the number of pre-flashes from the master, if two pre-flashes are performed, it will fire in synchronization (continuously) for the second pre-flash and the main flash.
Because of this, it is designed to only fire at 1/4 power or less, as it cannot fire twice in succession at 1/1 or 1/2 power due to recycling time limitations.

Q. The flash does not fire during mirror-up shooting. (For Canon)

Compatible models: i40

A. On Canon cameras, if the "Silent LV shooting" setting in the "Live View shooting" menu is set to "Mode 1" or "Mode 2," the flash will not fire if a non-Canon dedicated flash is attached. Additionally, for models equipped with a sync terminal (PC terminal), no trigger signal is sent from this terminal either.
This is due to camera specifications; setting the silent shooting option to "Disable" will allow all flashes to fire.
Note that on cameras without this setting (such as the EOS Kiss series), it cannot be toggled, so there is no way to fire a non-Canon dedicated flash during Live View shooting.
(Added March 2019) By updating the i40 firmware to Ver.18-11 or later, the flash will fire even when set to "Mode 1" or "Mode 2."

Q. I cannot pair the i40 with an Air10s or MG80 Pro (Commander mode).

Compatible models: i40

A. The i40 does not have a built-in NAS-compatible receiver, so it cannot pair with NAS commanders or flashes with built-in NAS commanders. Please use the optical TTL wireless function (excluding the Fujifilm version) or use the separately sold NAS-compatible receiver AirR. (Excludes Fujifilm, Olympus/Panasonic (Four Thirds) versions)
