Key Features

Enable radio control for non-radio flash units

AirR usage example

Even products with only optical wireless functions, such as the Nissin i600 or i40, can be remotely controlled by radio commanders like the Air10s or Air1*2 (both sold separately) when attached to the "Air R"*1.

It can also be used in combination with flash units that have built-in receivers, such as the MG series flashes or the i60A. Furthermore, it supports genuine flash units from various manufacturers, allowing you to incorporate your existing genuine flashes*1 into the NAS system*3.

*1 Limited to models supported by the Air R. Confirmed compatible models are listed in the Camera Compatibility Chart.
*2 Sales ended in October 2018.
*3 This product cannot be controlled by radio wireless commanders/transmitters from camera manufacturers or other third parties.

Supports TTL, Manual, Zoom adjustment, HSS (FP flash), rear-curtain sync, etc.*

The NAS radio wireless communication system allows anyone to easily and reliably perform flash photography with secure communication and simple operation, even in bright outdoors or environments with many obstacles.

Flashes attached to the AirR can be set to groups A, B, and C, and features such as TTL auto, manual, zoom head adjustment, High-Speed Sync (FP flash)*, and rear-curtain sync* will link with the camera.

*May not be available depending on the specifications of the camera and flash used.

Note: When controlled by the Air10s or MG80 Pro, TTL flash exposure compensation and manual flash output adjustment are in 1/3EV steps, and the minimum manual output is 1/256. (Firmware update required. Updated for models shipped after October 19, 2018 (Canon/Nikon) and January 22, 2019 (Sony).)
Note: When attaching a flash with GN40 or lower (such as the i40) to the AirR for Sony and controlling it from an Air10s, the Air10s's TTL memory function cannot be used due to large errors after light output conversion.

AirR Usage Image

Mount Compatibility

When using the Air R, **all mounts must match** among the camera, commander (Air1/Air10s/MG80 Pro), Air R, and the flash mounted on the Air R for all functions to work.

  • If the camera/commander is for Canon and the Air R/flash is for Nikon ⇒ Will not work
  • If the camera/commander/Air R/flash are all for Canon ⇒ Will work
AirR Mount Compatibility

*1 Control such as changing light output or zoom position via the commander.
*2 In some cases, even basic sync may not work. We do not verify or guarantee operation when using mixed mounts.
Please see How to identify your mount for more information.

Simple and convenient design

The compact body, which runs on two AAA batteries, is equipped with two intuitive control dials. A channel setting dial on the left and a group selection dial on the right provide excellent visibility.

Mounting foot with tripod socket and built-in self-standing stand

Designed for use in various conditions, the bottom features an accessory shoe and a tripod mounting socket (UNC 1/4-20). It also has a built-in mini-stand that allows it to stand on its own.

Sync socket

The side is equipped with a sync socket, allowing for the synchronization of large studio flash units*.

*Only available when the commander is in manual mode.
