MF18 II Product Information
The "MF18," the go-to ring flash for capturing high-quality macro shots with ease and automation, has evolved further. The biggest upgrade is the magnetic mechanism built into the flash head.

It now features one-touch attachment for the simultaneously released "MF-PL Cross Polarizing Filter Set" (sold separately). In combination with the polarizing filter, it thoroughly suppresses unpleasant glare and blown-out highlights often encountered in close-up photography. This allows for delicate depiction that preserves the details and textures of your subject.
While maintaining the unique "bright lighting in tight spaces" capability provided by the specialized semicircular flash tubes arranged around the lens, the evolution to the "II" adds the new value of powerful glare suppression.
Available for Canon, Nikon, and Sony.

Key Features
TTL Metering Support: Simple and reliable macro photography just by pressing the shutter
Supports TTL metering for Canon, Nikon, and Sony digital SLR cameras. Because the camera automatically adjusts for the optimal light output, anyone can easily enjoy beautiful macro photography simply by attaching the unit and pressing the shutter.
One-Touch Attachment: Built-in magnet for filter mounting
A magnet is built into the front of the flash head. You can snap on the separately sold "MF-PL Cross Polarizing Filter Set" with one touch using magnetic force.

Reduced Vignetting: Variable flash ring that opens and closes according to lens diameter
(Compatible macro lens diameters: 49mm to 77mm)
Features a new "Variable Size Flash Ring" mechanism that allows the flash ring size to be expanded or contracted with one touch. Even when using large-diameter macro lenses, opening the flash head effectively reduces vignetting (darkening) around the edges of the frame.

Check lighting effects beforehand: High-precision modeling LED lamps
Equipped with LED lamps to support subject focusing. The LED output intensity changes in tandem with the left/right light ratio set on the flash ring, allowing you to intuitively check the actual lighting effects before releasing the shutter.

Equipped with Fine Macro (Micro-Flash Mode)
In addition to manual mode (1/1 to 1/64, plus -2/3 EV in 1/3 EV steps), a new "Fine Macro (Micro-Flash) Mode" is included, allowing for granular control of micro-flashes from 1/128 to 1/1024 in 1/6 EV steps.
Freeform Lighting: Left/Right flash ring ratio control
The flash ring, split into left (A) and right (B) segments, allows you to select from 15 different light ratio settings in 1/2 EV steps during TTL metering. In manual mode, you can not only adjust the left and right sides individually but also shift the overall light output while maintaining the ratio between the left and right sides.
Wireless TTL Master Function
The MF18 II is equipped with a wireless TTL master function, allowing you to control wireless TTL remote-capable flash units in groups A and C, independent of the main unit's flash ring.
Channel settings are 1 to 4. Modes include TTL (flash exposure compensation -3.0 to +3.0, 1/2 EV steps) or Manual (1/128 to 1/1, 1/3 EV steps).
※Values set in Group C of this unit's wireless TTL mode will be applied to remote flash units set to both Groups A and C. (Groups A and C cannot be controlled separately.)
